Craigslist Swarms of Email
I posted a bunch of stuff on the craigslist free stuff page. Pure garbage most of it, but people love it. So, as a result of my generosity, people have been swarming me with emails of how they can be the first to pick it up, and can I please hold all this crap for them. Well, I get one email, and reply immediately. The big problem I see is that they don't reply back immediately with the time they can come get it, their phone number, etc. They just send one email that says "when can I pick it up" or "where it at" or similar, and expect me to keep track of all that. Then they don't reply for like a few hours.
So my biggest problem with that situation is that I need this crap out of here by this weekend, because I have extended family coming over for graduation. I want the place clean, and it's not clean with piles of crap all over the place.
Now, the next issue will be when people come to pick these items up. When someone calls dibs on something, I grant it to them, and trust that they'll pick it up when they say they will. When that happens, I email anyone else who says they want an item and tell them someone else has dibs, and I'll get back to them if it falls through. So, when it falls through on Friday morning, I have to go through the process all over again with another dipshit from the internet.
This time, it's going to be different. I'm going to dump all the crap either on my sidewalk or at the Salvation Army on Friday afternoon if nobody picks it up. That'll show 'em.
